‘Neuralink’, Elon Musk’s telepathic brain chip, may be implanted for the first time this year!

The implant was first seen in action in a monkey playing MindPong in 2021.

This year will see the first human implant of Elon Musk’s Neuralink technology. If you’re curious about how Musk’s brain chip will work on humans, we may soon find out.

Elon Musk created the brain-interface technology business in 2016, and its chip will be placed into a human brain this year. The implant was first seen in action in a monkey playing MindPong in 2021. With the help of the Neuralink device, the monkey was able to play the game merely by thinking about it.

Musk is positive on Neuralink.

Elon Musk recently spoke at the Wall Street Journal’s CEO Council Summit about what the future holds for the mind-bending technology. “We’ve got Neuralink working in monkeys.” “We’re also doing a lot of testing to make sure it’s highly safe and reliable, and that the Neuralink device can be properly removed,” Musk stated.

Elon Musk considers the Neuralink implant to be a “profound” innovation since it has the potential to aid many people who have suffered spinal cord injuries and have difficulty doing physiological activities. This technology may be able to assist them in regaining their freedom.

“We hope to have this in our first humans — which will be people that have severe spinal-cord injuries like tetraplegics, quadriplegics — next year, pending FDA approval,” Musk was quoted by AfroTech as saying.

Musk had previously stated that Neuralink would be tested on people in 2021. This did not happen, and the timeline has now been pushed back, in typical Elon Musk fashion.

While Musk appears to be upbeat about the technology, its utility, and the possibility of FDA approval, he has a history of offering unrealistic timetables. We’ll have to wait and see if we’ll get to witness Neuralink in action this year.
