Plutoverse, an avatar technology company, has announced that ‘DeerDost,’ its first virtual avatar for adults, will be available on the metaverse as well. The avatar, who first appeared on Instagram as @DeerDost, will also star in an adult animated web series.

The avatar, who is 20 years old, lives in Mumbai and, like most young adults, enjoys the sights and sounds of the city despite the pandemic’s loneliness.

The metaverse is a digital world that incorporates elements of social networking, online gaming, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR).

According to the business, the series is set in a futuristic version of Mumbai and explores how individuals deal with a wide range of emotions while living there.

The story follows DeerDost, a typical Mumbai 20-year-old who goes out with his buddies and spends his days in the virtual world.

The protagonist comes out of his house after spending the previous 18 months watching the world go by through his screen, only to discover that the world is afflicted with a far more deadly sickness — a loneliness epidemic, according to a spokeswoman for Plutoverse, the avatar technology business.

The startup aims to create a metaverse of locally created virtual avatars that are relatable to the country’s GenZ population. According to Prashant Sharma, the company’s co-founder, this generation needs to be involved in more fascinating dialogues utilising more interesting technologies. Artificial intelligence, virtual influencers, and synthetic storytelling media can be used to address more serious issues such as mental health.

Other virtual avatars of Bollywood and sports, as well as icons such as NFTs, digital commodities, animated shows, and virtual concerts, will be released by the corporation.

According to Emergen Research, the worldwide metaverse market size reached $47.69 billion in 2020 and is predicted to grow at a revenue CAGR of 43.3 percent over the forecast period. This value is predicted to rise to $828.95 billion by 2028.
