On one hand, there is Elon Musk who is committed to making sure AI does not destroy humanity. On the other hand, there is Jack Ma who believes that AI will help humanity to flourish and that there is no need to worry about it. These two billionaires are great leaders and the future of artificial intelligence will depend on the ideals that they share.
They are two of the most influential people in the world today. Jack Ma, the executive chairman of Alibaba, and Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, are the two most renowned people in the world. They both have taken a stand for their opinion on how to address artificial intelligence. Elon Musk is planning to have his company become a non-profit and Jack Ma is an ardent supporter of AI. This was the perfect chance for them to debate each other’s thoughts.

AI or Human, who is superior?
“Soon, we will be far, far surpassed in every way [by AI]. Guaranteed.” says Elon Musk However, Jack Ma disagrees and says “I never, in my life, think about how human beings will be controlled by machines. It’s impossible,” Ma said. He added, “We should understand one thing — that man can never make another man… Computers only have chips. Men have hearts.”
2. Are robots are going to take away our jobs?
There is concern about AI’s impact on jobs – once again, Ma and Musk are on opposite sides of the issue.
He acknowledged that AI could reduce jobs, but he didn’t view it as an issue. “I think that [with AI], people will work 3 days a week, 4 hours a day… so people are going to have more time for everything else.” he told me.
A foreboding Musk predicted, “AI will do away with jobs… the last job left will be programming AI — and then eventually, it’ll write itself.” To deal with the new career landscape, Musk recommended studying engineering or physics.
3. Is it always weird when someone speak about Aliens?
Musk was just interested in discussing aliens.
Musk repeatedly asked Jack Ma, “Where are the aliens?” and “How come no aliens have been found?” during the conference. Jack Ma was confused.

4. Robots should be the next generation caretakers.
One significant point about Jack Ma’s futuristic vision is that robots will care for the elderly.
“We need robots to take care of old guys.” he said flatly. A true win for filial piety.
5. Alibaba Intelligence could be a thing – Elon agreed:
Ma joked that he wasn’t crazy about the term “artificial intelligence,” even though his company has a network of AI labs around the world, including in Seattle. “I call it ‘AliBaba Intelligence,” he said.

AI rivals such as AlphaGo seem to suggest machines are smarter than humans, but Ma said that is far from the truth. He commented that the sake of competitions like track and field and Go are not a reason to compare humans with machines. “I never, ever play chess or Go with a computer,” Ma said.
7. Area 59 better than Are 51!
“There are some out there who think we’ve discovered aliens,” Musk said. “Trust me, I know. We have not. People ask me if I’ve been to Area 51. OK, please, SpaceX actually has Area 59 – eight better than Area 51.”
The two men agreed that forecasting the future can be tough. Ma said, “99.99% of predictions that human beings have made in history about the future – have been wrong.” And Musk asked, “Including that one?”
